Motivation to Grow Together in Unpad Choir Comparative Studies
Universitas Padjadjaran Choir (Unpad Choir) welcomed guests from several student choirs in Indonesia. On this occasion Unpad Choir was visited by three student choirs from various cities in Indonesia on three different occasions, namely Gadjah Mada University, Swadaya Gunung Jati University Cirebon, and Jenderal Soedirman University. Comparative Study with Gadjah Mada University was held at Bale Santika, Unpad Jatinangor Campus (17/3) and Comparative Study of Swadaya University Gunung Jati Cirebon, and Jenderal Soedirman University in Building B 3rd floor Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Jatinangor Campus (24/3) and (31/3).
The purpose of this comparative study is none other than to enrich the experience, good relationships between members of each choir and sharing stories between members of the choir. Of course, not only in terms of technical singing, but also in terms of stewardship and committees of various activities.
In the session that felt so short, there was a sense of comfort among members of the choir. Many lessons learned in question and answer session from both parties and the warmth felt when playing games in the form of vocalizing and through Focus Group Discussion to share knowledge. This comparative studies activity ended with the performance of each choir with some of its best songs.
One member of Unswagati Cirebon Choir, Nida revealed the reason to choose Unpad Choir as a place to learn. "As an organization, of course we have to have a reference, and Unpad Choir is a reflection in the success of the choir, especially for us who are still pioneering this," he said.
The same thing was also conveyed by Mas Imron, as Chairman of UGM Choir, "When we set up some university choir for choir visitation, it was based on how their branding in social media, because it is one of the most important things to develop the choir. And Unpad Choir is one of the good choirs in Indonesia, as evidenced by the existence of Indonesia Kirana," he said.
"The longer it gets, choirs in Indonesia are growing and of course they are all vying to be one of the best choirs in Indonesia. This can be seen from the number of choirs who conduct comparative studies with Unpad Choir. Of course this greatly spurred Unpad Choir to keep improving ourselves for the better in the future. With the spirit and motivation to always renew ourselves, we hope that Unpad Choir can remain a role model of choir in Indonesia and the choir in Indonesia can also continue to grow for the better,” said Rifky Kurnia, as the Vice President of Unpad Choir Kabinet Apresiatif 2018.
